Goombas greedy Gala might be the worst board in the entire series. If a star spawns in the blue quadrant, then you have to pray you get put in the right area by the roulette, then you have to make sure you don’t land on one of the happening spaces which there are 3 in a row then you have to win the dice game. Also you could get stuck in the purple quadrant and red quadrant for all of eternity if you keep winning the completely luck based mini game. I understand the theme is gambling which is luck based but this is overkill. Someone should tell these board designers you can’t have your cake and eat it too.

I hated this level and I hated that damn boat,normally I love volcano levels but this was just torture :( your ideas (espcially tfor the tubro nozzle ♥) is a great idea,I love the turbo nozzle,I play around with it everytime I unlock it,it's what I use the most when I'm not doing anything,it makes me wonder why they gave us the trubo nozzle but hardly did anything with it,it makes me sad cause it's really fun to use

This highlights what I loved about sunshine and 64. The deeper mechanics and movement options. Every game after this started heavily nerfing Mario’s movement and abilities and forcing you to the more linear level design. Odyssey was the first to finally move back in this direction except for his long jump and wall kicks still being heavily nerfed.

ngl i feel like flower fields would be a great place to live as long as you were fine with sleeping outdoors or if you had a tent. that's where i'd choose to live at least, plus i think most of the enemies there would leave you be if you left them be so

I think it’s obvious he committed some sort of crime against bowser.

I think it was pretty smart. There was SO many new mechanics in Super Mario World, from shell picking up to shell-less koopas, to the spin-jump, to the Yoshi Coins, to the slanted platforms, to the Bill, to Yoshi, to multi-hit enemies like Rex, that it made sense to have two tutorials.

what the heck? I've always beaten this level by using going underground like 1:18. Never knew nor considered there might be other options. Also worth noting since back then we had no youtube, I came up with this solution myself and I do feel proud! I was just a kid when it came out

I've watched this episode and series countless of times to fall asleep, it's real comfort videos for me. I lay awake and can't sleep, because I'm in yet another depressive period where nothing motivates me and everything seems pointless, or that I'll never be anything memorable. I used to play this game a lot with my older brothers, even just watching them play, three kids on two controllers, was enough for me. It was among the first games I ever played, or had even seen for that matter. I know objectively Mario party 4 has a ton of flaws, that I mostly didn't realize until I played some of the other games. But I could never hate this game, this is one of those things I will childishly defend even if it's not justified all the time. Maybe it's just the memories, the feeling of learning English and the "language" of video games via this entry. Right now, I'm sad, but this video makes me feel childishly safe.

bowser's death in this game was always fucked up to an almost comical degree to me because he just flat out dies. there's no sense of "oh he got dropped in lava but he's survived that before don't worry" no you see him literally become a skeleton

This really could've delved into unique ways of fixing each problem level by level

WHERE IS THE COLONIZING PART

I feel the choice of picking which level is first is a mini-tutorial of it's own. Super Mario World's World Map is more open than SMB3 where there's winding paths, secret areas, and much more. Allowing the player to pick their first level is a lesson that the developers have given you various ways to get to the end of the game.

Yoshi's Island 1 is the first level. Just because they give you the choice to skip the basic Mario mechanics tutorial at the start, doesn't mean that Yoshi's Island 1 and 2 are BOTH the first level. The level named Level 1 is the first level. Yoshi's Island 2 teaches you the new Yoshi mechanic and if you played any of the Mario games that came before SMW, you don't necessarily need to play the first level. They give you the choice to skip directly to the second level, because there is a very high chance that you are familiar with Mario at that point in time. By your logic, that would mean that Crash Bandicoot 3 has 5 first levels, because you can choose from the first 5 levels right from the start. Why give levels numbers and order them from left to right? You said it yourself, Yoshi's Island 1 teaches you the basic Mario mechanics, Yoshi's Island 2 introduces the advanced and new Yoshi mechanics. You just proved that Yoshi's Island ONE is the first level. The player just has the freedom to skip to level 2. But yes, you explained the game design choices behind the first 2 levels very well and this video was very well made and I don't dislike the video. I like it very much, just wanted to point out your flaw in saying SMW has no "first" level. If we're being pedantic, Yoshi's House would be the very first level in the game, so saying SMW doesn't have a "First Level" is double false

{Touri} Fun fact: In the Japanese, he’s not a named character, despite his distinctive appearance. He’s just another nokonoko like the standard enemies, except that he’s huge and happens to like racing. That actually makes it even more plausible that it’s a matter of having a power star.
